THURROCK INTERNATIONAL CELEBRATION OF CULTURE (TICC)

TICC has an array of exciting cultural events and arts activities based at different location in Grays, Thurrock. ‘SECUNDUM TAMESIM QUOVIS GENTIUM’ – ‘By Thames to all the peoples of the world’ is the borough’s motto and TICC reflects this history of international  links. TIC FILM FESTIVAL 

TIC Film Festival takes place each September.

In June 0f 2018, Film Hub South East included Thameside Theatre as a regional venue member. We marked this occasion by establishing the TIC Film Festival from 6th -9th September. It was not just any film festival but one of invisible films, films of the Other, the dispossessed, the lesser seen. The theme is a pertinent one, It can cause some unexpected responses. TIC Film Festival responds to the changing demographic Thurrock.

TIC FILM CLUB

TIC Film Club is a space for sharing, dialogue, communication and to observe how the rest of the world approaches and deals with various circumstances and situations through films and videos.

Members of the Film Club help to programme screenings at TIC Film Festival.

Thurrock Young Creatives is a group of diverse young cultural leaders who have emerged out of TIC Film Club. They play a major role in the creation of content for TICC activities. To find out more, click here.

Thurrock International Celebration of Culture (TICC) sets out to provide Thurrock with an enhanced sense of civic pride and identity by creating participatory opportunities, activities and events in collaboration with the Creative and Cultural sector.

TICC provides a forum for community networking, idea development, event planning and provides the wider community with the opportunity to make contact with a highly diverse range of opportunities in Thurrock. A broad range of creative and cultural projects combine to form an annual festival programme in summer in Thurrock.

TICC builds the capacity of culturally active groups in Thurrock by supporting their development throughout the year and enabling those groups to engage with young people, education providers, communities and new audiences.
